Muffler selection

Postby Adrenaline » Sun Jun 07, 2009 3:34 pm

I need new exhaust on the Mark. So I need opinions about mufflers. The stock gt mufflers sounded ok. But..... It has a dohc 4.6 So it will pretty much sound like a cobra mustang.

I'll probably be the odd man out. I still like the Flowmasters best, drone and all. :D

I agree with TH, that the FlowMasters sound good, even though most people have moved on to other brands. However, if I were buying an exhaust again, I'd take a look at SLP. Every car I've heard with them sounds great. So I voted other, because I may be jumping off the FM band wagon too...... we'll see, when I add to the stable, and need to buy another exhaust.

I was going to say to go with SLP Looudmouth mufflers, or lack of. They are more or less muffler deletes. I had them on my 05 Mustang GT when I traded it in and they sounded great. They didn't drone like a lot of others do. Just don't get the SLP Powerflo mufflers. They are not that loud and have a lot of drone.

I have a SLP loudmouth axle back on mine. It has a perfect bark to it (if that makes any sense). I can keep it quite if i want but i can also make it scream, which I like i plan on doing SLP's Longtube headers, and shorty x-pipe.

I really doesn't have a drown to it i'll have to put a sound clip up
